Mars (pronounced [ˈmɑːz]) is the fourth planet from the Star in the Sol Solar System. The planet is named after Mars, the Roman god of war in human lore. It was also referred to as the "Red Planet" by the Humans because of its reddish appearance.

Mars is a terrestrial planet with a thick atmosphere, with many volcanoes, valleys, deserts, polar ice caps, lakes and oceans making up the surface. It is the site of Olympus Mons, the highest known mountain in the Sol Solar System, and of Valles Marineris, the former largest canyon that has since become a deep ocean trench. In addition to its geographical features, Mars’ rotational period and seasonal cycles are likewise similar to those of old Earth.

Amberosis is a cold world because it is farther out from the sun, and it has little weather because its atmosphere is dry. It has extensive oceans, but no polar ice caps because land is positioned in the north. Instead, the northern regions are covered in permafrost.
